ROLE
The role’s responsibility is to develop and take ownership of partnerships to manage pharmaceutical products and portfolios, across multiple companies and therapeutic areas, to provide health care professionals and patients access to medicines that are not available via the normal commercial licensed route.
The key responsibilities for this role are:
Portfolio Development and Planning
Working with Business Development and Commercial colleagues across divisions and regions to share and collaborate on product leads
Oversight of ‘on-demand’, quoted and supplied medicines on an unlicensed basis to drive pricing strategy and identify products of interest for the portfolio (unlicensed or licensing opportunity)
Contribution to annual business plan and three-year strategic planning
Provide support to regional commercial division/s as required
Product Management
Work with Medical and Account Management teams to understand and evaluate market demand and product usage insights to develop commercial proposals and subsequently determine appropriate product pricing and strategy
Development of a 3 year strategic demand plan and strategy for assigned products
Develop a portfolio of marketing tools, necessary to support the plan
Manage products through stages of product life cycle
Develop professional relationships with Key Opinion Leaders in areas of core business
Monitor key financial areas including the recording of monthly sales, expenditure and margins
Communicate strategies to the field team, encouraging ownership and involvement to ensure delivery of activities
Attend relevant trade events
Partner Relationship Management
Develop and maintain professional relationships with partner companies/suppliers as assigned by the business development team and management
Manage partner expectations and implement operational processes to ensure requirements of agreements are met
Comply with partner requirements such as reporting, forecasting and communication
Attend partner meetings and product training internationally
Identify opportunities for new business through partner relationships
KOL and Customer Relationship Management
Develop and leverage relationships with key customers, KOLs, patient advocacy groups and other key stakeholders relevant to assigned projects
In collaboration with the field-based team, implement and undertake customer-facing activities required to support partner expectations
Provide feedback to partners with customer intel as required
Coordinate and manage customer enquiries regarding the assigned products
Represent the organisation in negotiations, at conferences, seminars and official occasions
Project Management
Collaborate with the business development team to take ownership of assigned products and partnerships
Act as the key point of contact for assigned partner companies
Develop business plans and product development plans
Project manage cross-functional product related activities relating to unlicensed supply, regulatory/reimbursement processes and licensed supply
Communicate with all involved cross-functional teams and drive product development to achieve growth targets and milestones
Conduct market analysis and regularly review impact of any market changes
Communicate any significant market changes to key stakeholders and management team
Provide regular updates of project progress and milestone achievements
Knowledge and Compliance
Maintain a current and comprehensive knowledge of relevant (global and regional) competitors, regulatory and reimbursement pathways in key markets, new products/therapeutics and general medicine advances
REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidate will have the following:
Extensive experience within pharmaceutical industry, with specific experience in Product Management or a Medical Affairs external-facing role
Educated to degree level in pharmacology, pharmacy or related chemistry degree
Demonstrable experience in pre-launch product planning and unlicensed medicines supply
Product and institutional knowledge
Experience in market and asset analysis relating to medicines
Experience of operating globally, preferably in multiple countries is desirable
Excellent interpersonal and demonstrated relationship building skills with internal and external stakeholders
Experience in Early/Expanded Access Programs is desirable
Flexible, adaptive and self-motivated
Ability to travel nationally and internationally (30-40% global travel is required for this role)
Solid people management experience
